A full flop for Tampa
In all honesty it was a poor showing for TB , failing on offence in big 3rd downs and on defence with multiple blown coverages and 4th down collapses, but the biggest fail of all last night was the coaching. Calling a punt down 12 on 4th and 3 , putting in KJ britt on defence (who played one Defensive snap all year) on a massive 4th down , the constant refusal of play action and over all just bad calls. The question will be , who gets the boot ,IF ANYONE?
Let’s go off what we know as of 17/1 with the coaches
As I write this I heard Todd bowles say no decision was made on Offensive coordinator byron leftwich’s future as of now. But per multiple sources we’ve heard that the bucs are set to fire him and had plans to do so in the bye week but bowles decided against it. Personally I really would like to see a revamp offensively so Tampa can utilise their weapons to the best of their ability , Brady or not.
Defensively I’d like Larry Foote and co. to keep their jobs as I feel a lacklustre offence let them down at times this season when they kept games close.I will also add , I’d be willing to give Todd bowles 2 more years as I want to see what he can offer with a more “complete” staff unit.
Later this week I’ll have a piece about the players who are UFA and players likely to be cut.
The week after we are getting right back into the “understanding American football” category with offensive football
