Is Tom Brady’s time in Tampa at a close?
Well rumours have stated Tom Brady is “taking time to decide on his future” but several bucs players believe “he sounded like a guy saying goodbye” or even more negative than that “I’d be surprised if he’s back”. All that said the buccaneers organisation themselves have stated they believe they still remain the favourites to retain the veteran as they’ve “created a strong environment for him to be successful” and firing OC byron leftwich allowing Brady to choose , the bucs are clear on their intentions to attempt to retain him at all costs.
In my opinion , it’s not likely that Brady resigns with the bucs as I feel there’s a better chance he could win elsewhere.
Other free agents
The bucs who are a disgraceful $55 million over the cap limit in 2023 have a lot of tough decisions ahead. As some of you will know the buccaneers have a lot of free agents this season, some being very important pieces like DB’s Jamel dean and Sean Murphy bunting who both saw a fair share of snaps this season , also key safety Logan Ryan who had a good year in Tampa is also at the end of his one year deal but the one that has Tampa fans on the edge of their seats is long time line backer , lavonte David . In his decade long career lavonte has established himself as one of the best linebackers in the league and definitely should find his way into canton. However the buccaneers have not yet made contact with him over a contract extension. Lavonte himself said he will take some time and think about his first time seeing the free agency market. My thoughts would lean towards lavonte finishing his career in Tampa.
Who’s not coming back?
Well per sources there are (some) guys almost guaranteed to leave , they go as follows, S Logan Ryan , WR Julio Jones , WR Scotty Miller , WR Breshad Perriman , S Keanu Neal , K Ryan Succop , RB Giovanni Bernard , DT Rakeem Nunez Roches.
Obviously it always sucks seeing people lose their jobs but when your salary cap is as high as Tampa’s , sometimes it’s best to start over.
